What is gold vermeil?

18K gold over solid 925 sterling silver. 2.5 microns of gold qualifies as vermeil. We did 3.5 microns, because we're not like everybody else.

Is gold vermeil solid gold?

No. It's the closest thing to solid gold, a thick layer of 18K gold over solid sterling silver. Real silver underneath, all the way through.

Can I wear gold vermeil in the water?

Take it off for the surf, shower and gym. Water, sweat, chlorine and salt all wear gold down faster.

How do I look after gold vermeil?

Wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Keep it away from perfume, sunscreen and chemicals, and store it on its own so it doesn't rub against other pieces.

Is gold vermeil hypoallergenic?

Yes. It's 18K gold over solid sterling silver, not brass, so it suits sensitive skin.
