Fit, explained
Between two sizes?
Down to how you like to wear a ring. Tight or loose is your call, but the safe play is to size up. A slightly loose ring is far comfier than a slightly tight one.
Big knuckles, slim fingers?
Big knuckles? Good news, you're less likely to lose a ring. Size both your knuckle and the base of your finger, then go the size in between. Tight over the knuckle, comfy at the base.
Does the time of day matter?
Mid to late afternoon is your sweet spot, hands rested and at room temp. Easy. Just avoid measuring straight after the gym, in the heat, or in the cold, as that's when fingers swell or shrink a touch.
Does it matter which hand?
Measure the hand you'll actually wear it on. Your dominant hand usually runs about half a size bigger, more use means slightly bigger muscles on the fingers. Handy too: if a ring feels slightly off on one hand, try the other and it'll often sit just right.

2. USE YOUR PHONE CORD OR A STRIP OF PAPER:
Wrap it around his finger while he's relaxed (or asleep, no judgement), mark where it meets, measure the length, then convert it in the Billie Jo sizing calculator.
3. TRACE HIS HAND:
Get his hand flat on paper and trace around it, however you manage that. Measure the finger you want him to wear the ring on with a ruler, that's your diameter, and pop it into the Billie Jo sizing calculator.
4. GO WITH THE DEFAULT:
No rings to work with? Size 10 is the most common men's size, so it's a safe bet, and swaps are easy if you miss.

Thickness sets the tone for look you are going for. Here's how the two read on the wrist:
Not sure? Most guys start with slim 2mm. Easy to wear, easy to stack a second one later.
Sizing it: Wrap a tape or charging cable around your bare wrist, measure it on a ruler, add 1.5cm. Go with the closest size: 18cm, 19.5cm, or 21cm. Most guys are 19.5cm.
